Carter Banks

It is considered as the most abundant spot in the Broadwater for taking large numbers of whiting. Fishing at the banks should only be during the rising tide, for it has a very strong run-off during the ebb tide.

Nerang River

Good quality of whiting can be yielded well up in the river. The Coombabah and Coomera Rivers are also good spots for whiting and bream.

Grand Hotel

The section of waters nearby the grand hotel has a number of 'depressions' which are good spots for flathead. The southern banks here are the top spot for catching yabbies for bait.

Perry Banks

An area located by a long line of concrete posts on South Stradbroke Island, is the preferred spot for boat anglers at night. Bream, whiting and flathead can be spotted on the edge of the mangroves.
