Fleurieu Peninsula has been known for salmon. Other species of fish
are also found in this area where the most known fishing grounds are
Parsons and Waitpinga Beaches which is right around the corner of
Backstairs Passage. A school of salmon, tailor and mullets come in to
these beaches. A jetty, farther down Rapid Bay, is home to trevally,
garfish, yellowtail kingfish in December. A beautiful stretch of
coastline from Cape Jervis to Victor Harbor with Tunkalilla Beach in the
center- known for rock-hoppers school of tommyruff stay close by.
Barracouta, mulloway, tommyruff and mullets are also taken from Victor
Harbor and fishing is heavy in this area. A place called Talisker
is abundant with mullets and yellowfin whiting. Granite Island is one of
the places in the South Coast which is frequently visited by fishermen.
The fresh water part of Adelaide Hills, brown and rainbow trout are
taken, so as redfin. The roads in the South Coast are in good condition
and there are many places for a tourist to stay and feel safe.
